PERMIT APPLICATION GUIDELINES

Submit to the Village of Fox Lake Building Department:

  • A completed permit application.
  • 1 Copy of your property plat of survey.  You will need to locate, by drawing on the plat of survey, the improvement that you wish to make.
  • By village ordinance, any contractor that is working within the village limits needs to obtain a $10,000 L & P bond.  A Demolition Contractor needs a $50,000 L&P bond. Check with the Building Department to see if your contractor needs additional requirements and if they may already be currently bonded. 
  • If you live in a subdivision that has a Homeowner’s Association, you will have to obtain an approval letter from the Association in order for the Village to release a permit.
  • Provide three (3) complete sets of drawings stamped by a State Licensed Architect for the specific projects as determined by the Building Department.
  • Permit requirements for commercial projects require additional submittals. Please contact the Building Department for additional information
