Hydrant Flushing

Beginning the week of April 2nd and finishing on or about April 25th, the Fox Lake Sewer and Water Department will flush all fire hydrants in both water systems. This is to ensure hydrants are in good working order in case of emergencies, and to help flush sediment out of the distribution system.  Signs will be posted in each area before the flushing begins.  Flushing will be done between 7:30 AM and 4:00 PM on Mondays through Fridays.  Please DO NOT do laundry on the day hydrants are flushed in your area.  Flushing stirs up rust which can discolor your laundry. After flushing in your area if there is any discoloration in your faucet water, let it run for a few minutes, preferably from the tub spout and it will clear up. The water is safe to drink.  If you have any questions, please call Fox Lake Public Works at 847-587-8570 (M-F 7:00-3:30 p.m.) or e-mail noonank@foxlake.org.  Thank You for Your Cooperation in This Matter.
