Nationally Accredited Center of Excellence
On January 27, 2016 FoxComm E9-1-1 became accredited through the International Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatch (IAED) providing a high standard of excellence for emergency dispatching.
Services
All services shall be conducted in accordance with the following:
- Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
- Illinois Department of Public Health
- International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED) in conjunction with the Northern Illinois Medical Center and the Condell Medical Center emergency medical system coordinators
- Illinois Commerce Commission
- Service departments policies and procedures
Facility
The FoxComm 9-1-1 center at the Fox Lake Public Safety Building was established March 1, 2005. When designing the new center the idea was to make the center capable of expansion for future clients and technology, reducing the cost of communications.
FoxComm operates with:
- Computer-aided dispatch
- Computer-aided emergency medical services
- Digital voice records
- Enhanced 9-1-1 system
- Microprocessor-based touch-screen control consoles
Staff
FoxComm is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with dedicated staff who provide emergency call handling; police, fire and medical dispatch; alarm response and emergency incident management support.
